What To Expect When Switching To Natural Deodorant?
Switching to a natural deodorant sounds easy enough, but it raises questions if making the switch to a natural or aluminum‑free deodorant is better for you.

On the other hand, making this switch can bring up a whole bunch of concerns, like worries about smelling weird, dripping sweat constantly or developing creepy underarm rashes.

When you’re ready, here’s the stages that you will face during the changeover into a healthier life choice.

Applying Joi Natural Deodorant

Stage 1: Expect to sweat

If you have been using antiperspirant for years, your sweat glands will be dependent on it. The aluminium compounds in antiperspirant form a gel‑like plug and constrict your pores in the underarm and stop you from sweating.

When you switch to natural deodorant, you may feel like you are sweating more but this is your body detoxing and adjusting to the natural deodorant.

Stage 2 : Detoxing

Your body will temporarily increase sweat production and you will experience a substantial increase in growth of odour‑causing bacteria in the underarm area.
At this point, with the temporary increase of sweating and change in body odour, people often assume that natural deodorant does not work.

Patience is key. Give your body time to transition. It is important to know that this odour‑causing bacteria won’t last forever, it is just a part of the detox.

Stage 3: Stick it out

Bacteria levels may begin to subside. The bacterial communities under your arms are able to re‑balance and stop over‑producing odour‑causing bacteria. You will notice odour issues starting to decrease and perspiration levels beginning to normalize.

Stage 4: Yay! No more body odour

Your natural armpits are back in place and your body should have fully adjusted to natural deodorant. It can take up to 30 days for your body to regulate itself, though for some people the detox stage is shorter.
